Purchasing classics there

Let's start with this data Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce from 1979. This one Alfa creation with muscles has a beautiful green paint with a striking striping. The mileage indicates a small 31.000 km. This Italian masterpiece looks like a GTV from the outside. The powerful petrol engine (power 130 hp) is linked to a manual five-speed gearbox. The Ronal rims adorn the Italian. Top technology wrapped in an attractive elegant jacket. Alfa speaks the language of the top itself!

Alfa fanaticism

We are not surprised at the passion and passion of Italians for cars. But also in the Netherlands we know many people whose nostrils open when they see this piece of ingenious Italian technology from the Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce. A pleasure to look at and to drive. John van Alfa Romeo Jelle Talsma in Leeuwarden knows the hotbed of Alfa fanaticism and let the name Veloce of this beautiful piece of technology resound with its addition.

John: “This one Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce is equipped with the beautiful Nord engine with a capacity of two liters, equipped with two overhead camshafts and two double carburetors, so that the name Veloce definitely belongs on this car. The technicians of Alfa Romeo, of course, were the top of the world at this time. The 50/50 weight distribution was achieved, among other things, by placing the gearbox in the back between the driven wheels. This hangs in a De Dion axle, we call this a transaxle. This concept is different Alfa Romeos applied: like this one Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce, the Giulietta, Alfa 75, Alfa 90 and the sample SZ. (The latter held the record for the highest G-force through a corner of any production car in 1990.)”

The Alfa principle: Passion

No, not the word in the well-known romantic sense, but a powerful form of enthusiasm that you feel deep down and that is not easy to explain nor (?) to describe. They are simply seductive cars and for a small(?) group it is simply: Passion and emotion. Sometimes your imagination runs wild. (How much nicer it used to be on the road.) Certainly this one Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce has been cherished by the previous owner who owned the classic for a long time. The new lacquer coat is an original colour, but the striping was a personal adjustment. This masterpiece therefore becomes a striking one Alfa creation. Of this Alfa Romeo Alfetta 2,0 GT Veloce you see few copies 'live' on our roads. We put our thoughts on the track of the 80s. Bella, Bella, those are the only right words when you come across this classic!

  1. “De gustibus non disputandum est” with all those ugly stripes, yellow headlights, anwb logo, etc. It looks more like a Christmas tree, I had one of the first GTs, before that an Alfetta berlina, that was only a car, with the GT has it never been “real love”, more sighing when a piece of plastic fell off somewhere when boarding or the tachometer made noise.

  2. the models from that time were so beautiful as standard that nothing more had to be done! I like the "wolf in sheep's clothing" appearance! you see a stylish car and yet you know it has speed.
That's why I think it's a shame that often young owners always lower them and have to have Ronals on them, such a shame then it just becomes an ordinary sports car! that stripe on that car looks like that of a ford mustang also wrong.

  3. The model of thisAlfa GT Veloce' is somewhat reminiscent of the Audi 100 Coupé S from the 70s (which I had in red). See the attachment: a photo from Leek, via AMK of 11 Oct. 2022.

  4. Beautifully written, as usual! Passion for cars, I've never understood that not “everyone” thinks it's fantastic to turn a (ignition) key, hear the engine start… ready to drive anywhere… Those rear lights of the first series I still think are the most beautiful lights there are, so graceful…. In the discussion whether cars used to be more beautiful or not… it is striking to me how poor the interior was, often poorly “fitting”. Interiors of modern (luxury) cars are real gems. The exterior, on the other hand, used to have much more character.

  5. ID 131 hp. Have driven two. The first was a "regular" GT that rusted harder than it drove, unfortunately and the second was this version in original Alfa red. Great car and drove for quite a long time. Then switched to a six-cylinder version, but although it also drove great, I still missed the charm of the 4 cylinder. Still a very nice model.
