You probably don't want to think about it on a beautiful sunny day like today. Yet it might be useful to know that given the winter conditions of the last two years, with extreme freezing cold, Which antifreeze not antifreeze is more.

That's why when filling one oldtimer of youngtimer look at what exactly is on the label. On the orange antifreeze stands among other things OAT, Organic Acid Technology. Do not use! Also avoid the antifreeze with the following indication: HOAT, Hybrid Organic Acid Technology. Do not use either NOAT, Nitrate Organic Acid Technology, because that's an ordinary one OAT with additions to Nitrate. Then what? It will be a search, but it is still available (for example with something as simple as Halfords): IAT, Inorganic Additive Technology. This is namely antifreeze based on glycol ethylene. Easily recognizable by the blue color! Disadvantage of this, it only has a shelf life of two years! However, if you want the (complete) environmental tour, then you use a product based on propylene glycol. Go look for that ...
