A bible for M72, Ural and Dnepr enthusiasts. It is now socially accepted to like a Russian boxer sidecar.
And to score such an endearingly tough tricycle you don't even have to put that much effort into it.
When purchasing an M72 (which can be quite expensive) or a still very cheap Ural or Dnepr 650 cc head valve, it mainly applies that it is complete and does it.
If it is not complete, then parts are easy to get and for little money. If it doesn't work, it's easy to fix.
So that is not the case. But what matters is that which many BMW enthusiasts get flakes of their fingers: the Originality.
With Urals and Dneprs there is a good chance that this 'factory originality' was lost decades ago. The older machines that came here had to drive in their respective home countries. Anyway.
And because with Russian engines just about everything was and is interchangeable ...
Originality is therefore only a friendly suggestion in Russenrijdersland.
But if you want to read seriously, then Mit Hammer und Schlüssel from Tom van Endert an absolute necessity.
A necessity with a smile in perspective and proof of the fact that Germans do have a sense of humor.
