After two online editions, the Bremen Classic Motorshow is finally open to the public again. This was the last time in 2020, and that was the edition where the organization welcomed a record number of visitors. The expectation that the record from 2020 will be broken is more than justified. This is not only due to the fact that visitors had to wait a long time to be able to visit the fair again themselves. This is also due to the program, which the organization put together under the leadership of Frank Ruge, and which is provided by more than 700 exhibitors within Messe Bremen.
Because the composition traditionally does not lie. As always, the Bremen Classic Motor Show has two main themes. One for the cars, one for the motorcycles. To start with the first category: the cars are brought together in the theme 'Biedermann und Brandstifter'. In other words: basic versions of classic models are placed next to the most spicy versions. For example, the BMW 1502 is presented together with the BMW 2002 Turbo. The entry-level Ford Capri greets its much faster brother, the 2600 RS. The base Renault 5 has a tête-à-tête with the 5 Turbo. The Lancia Delta 1300 is positioned next to rally gun S4. And so there are even more combinations imaginable, which provide a particularly attractive prospect.
“Zwei-stroke or Four-stroke?”
The other 'Sonderschau' is filled with classic two-stroke and four-stroke engines from all classes. They meet in Bremen. For example, the Simson Star and Moto Morini Corsarino stand next to the little-known scooters Moto Guzzi Galetto and Progress Strolch. Of course, the superbikes of yesteryear are also represented, such as the Honda CB 750 Four and the Suzuki GT 750. Sporty 250s with both drive concepts already existed in the 23s. The lightweight BMW R XNUMX and the complex one Triumph BD 250 (both from 1939) show the momentum of the nations within the important 250 class. The Gilera 150 Rossa Super from 1958 and the DKW RT 175 S underline how different manufacturers viewed the application of technical solutions. The 'Sonderschau' is the centerpiece of an exhibition in which visitors can see many more historic motorcycles, scooters and mopeds. For the composition of this program, the organization works closely with PS, Speicher Einbeck.
Multitude of familiar themes
Another spearhead in the 2023 edition is the “Young Classics” forum, which is co-presented by Motor Klassik. Within this theme, original cars from the late 90s to the early 100.000s are offered. These are specimens that have been tested by TÜV Süd and have driven up to 8 kilometers. Bremen has a lot more in store. What about the red list of old-timers that are slowly being threatened with extinction. Or the theme with American VXNUMX Pickups? In addition, the large number of returning visitors will enjoy the trade fairs for classic cars (Parkhaus) and motorcycles, the sales exhibition, the Classic Custom Motorcycle Lounge, the classic bicycles, the focus on smaller themes, parts stands, club presentations, the automobilia and miniatures range and even more things that are classic related.
