… A top word for Scrabble. And a way of cleaning that has now emerged from the rocket science & high tech atmosphere. Oscar Housheer's business card therefore states: “dry ice cleaning, a breeze”
The system works on engine blocks, upholstery and sheet metal
Dry ice cleaning is a cleaning method in which dry ice (CO2 compressed into solid form) is used as a blowing agent. The process is a particularly environmentally friendly, effective and time-saving alternative for various branches as a cleaning method.
The cleaning process consists of three phases:
1. Mechanical. The dry ice pellets accelerate in the air flow and hit the unwanted attack at high speed, after which it is removed.
2. Thermal. The low temperature of the dry ice (-79,5 C) makes the scale brittle, causing cracks, so that the scale can be removed.
3. Sublimation. When the dry ice grains touch a surface, they sublimate from solid form to gas. This increases the volume 700 times, causing the attack to "explode".
The special thing about dry ice is that it looks like small granules (pellets), and it is a completely natural product. It is a solid form of carbon dioxide (CO2) and is extracted from the air. After use, it "evaporates" again and the CO2 disappears into the air.
The emission of the CO2 does not contribute to global warming, there is only carbon dioxide recycling. We borrow the CO2 from nature for a while and return it after useful use.
Smart right?
