The first Star Cars & Coffee edition of 2015 is over. On May 31, the meeting for and by Mercedes-Benz fans took place in Surhuisterveen. No fewer than 175 copies were found on the grounds of young and old-timer specialist and Mercedes fan Klaas de Poel. They were the most important ingredients for a very successful event, which was also excellently organized.
Successful encounter between time images and worlds of experience
All types of Mercedes-Benz from all years of construction were welcome in Friesland. This resulted in a successful encounter between time images and ways of experiencing the German brand. From W201 to the latest C-Class, from W115 to W124, from Heckflosse to W140, from R107 to R129: they were present in Surhuisterveen. What was striking about this meeting was that the vast majority of the cars present were in a beautiful and original condition. Certainly for Mercedes-Benz fans with a great penchant for purism, Star Cars & Coffee was therefore a celebration of the recognition of the values with which the historic and recent Mercedes were once equipped.
Beautiful specimens enthusiastically and very expertly appointed
Although most of those present had come to the meeting with nice cars, a few examples still stood out. The beautiful W111 - a beautiful six-cylinder Heckflosse was in the spotlight, as well as a Mercedes-Benz 220 from the Baureihe W187 from 1952. Together with a down to the last detail Mercedes Benz L206 with an open body and a very rare Mercedes Benz 170 Convertible (W136), they showed a historic charisma from a distant past. They formed a unity of uniform with other beautiful Benzen from the seventies and eighties. Henk Mulder enthusiastically put the Mercedessen present in Surhuisterveen in good condition - and there were quite a few of them - and named them in detail. The enthusiasm with which that happened was contagious and what especially stood out: every statement from the crazy Mercedes Mulder was - certainly from a technical point of view - completely in touch.
Informal but perfectly organized event
The information suited an informal but perfectly organized event, where the findings and the love for the German brand could be optimally shared while enjoying a cup of coffee, a nice hamburger or a real Pretzel. The atmosphere in which it happened was experienced as pleasant by all those present. This is another reason why Klaas de Poel and his crew can look back on a more than successful organization of the first Star Cars & Coffee of 2015.
