The white 96 Combi has been around for a while. Because we were very busy relaxing in the thermal baths, inquiries with the hotel staff started.
And the photos come a little later. The camera with which we photographed the Saab has caught a cold during an unexpected shower.
But if you are curious you can of course just do a Valkenburg weekend.
You now know which hotel to sleep in, the beds are good, the breakfast is great and the staff are friendly. Just like the rates.
If you do go and see that Saab, you can immediately add a nice Spa package. Thermae 2000 has, of course, gloriously missed its target in terms of name, but it remains a phenomenon where you as an adult can relax for a day. A kind of quiet tropical bathing paradise with a good dash of Wellness & Health suggestion.
Valkenburg is just as touristy as in 1960, but the drivers have made a quality improvement. A lot has been renewed, restored and beautifully made. And where other places have gambled on shopping streets, Valkenburg is a kind of dining paradise.
In fact, Valkenburg is great. Hospitable, beautiful, hardly Dutch and there is a lot to do.
