Purchasing classics there

On 8 June 1948 the Porsche received 356 'Nr. 1 'Roadster are official admission. It was the start of a history in which Porsche developed into one of the most appealing sports car brands in the world. It is not for nothing that Porsche is proud of this. And in her own treasure room enjoys an extensive exhibition of illustrious models. The exhibition has since been opened. It happened on the historical date of ……… 8 June, exactly 70 year after the admission of 'Nr. 1 'Roadster.

During the special exhibition at the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, Porsche presents stories and milestones that shaped the company. The 5.600 m2 exhibition space has been completely refurbished. The legendary 356 'No. 1 'is the appropriate reception. Porsche is one of the few manufacturers that still owns the original, first-built model of its own brand. Visitors then make a time travel on the basis of more than 75 models. A look into the future is also appropriate: there is a prominent place for the electrically powered Mission E.

Motor sport central

Naturally, there is a lot of attention for motorsport: Porsche has always tried new technologies in racing cars, which have become legends. This principle also applies to 'The Sports Car of the Future'. The electrically powered Mission E, which will be launched in 2019, will benefit from Porsche's experience with Le Mans winner 919 Hybrid. In addition, Porsche shows digital projects. Examples include connectivity via Porsche Connect and data protection through the use of blockchain in sports cars. There are also interactive experiences such as an Augmented Reality application for the Mission E. While the visitor views the car, he or she receives additional information about the innovative technology through AR glasses.

The people behind Porsche

The special exhibition is also dedicated to the people behind Porsche. It pays tribute to the employees, drivers and friends of Porsche. Zuffenhausen is well aware that these people gave the brand allure. "Without the commitment of the employees and the enthusiasm of the global Porsche community, the brand would never have been so successful," said Porsche spokesmen.

Also other anniversary activities

In addition to the exhibition in the Porsche Museum, there are more anniversary activities. There will be special exhibitions in the Porsche Pavilion in Autostadt (Wolfsburg) and in the Porsche factory in Leipzig. In the Netherlands, the jubilee was celebrated during the free Porsche Days 2018 on Circuit Zandvoort. Also the Festival of Speed in Goodwood (12-15 July) and the Rennsport Reunion in California (27-30 September) are entirely or for an important part in the theme of '70 year Porsche sports cars'. The anniversary activities are concluded with the Porsche Sound Night on 13 October.

Must for fans

We know from our own experience that Porsche is already paying attention to its history in an engaging way. The Porsche Museum provides a compelling and complete picture of the history of the Zuffenhauser sports car brand. The exhibition will take the visitor into Porsche history in an even more striking way. The Porsche Museum, we say it again, is a must for fans. Certainly now that the anniversary exhibition is being held there.
