Purchasing classics there

A desirable car from a country where a great love for classic cars can still be observed. Especially in the 60s, Italy played an important role in design and a great reputation was built up in coachbuilding. Many coachbuilders used the small Fiats as the basis for special versions that were made in limited editions. The car artists of Italian design showed time and again beautiful examples, such as with this Fiat 850 Vignale Coupé from 1965. The elegance is, of course, feminine!

Fiat 850 Vignale Coupe

Virginio Vario was the chief designer at Vignale and came up with three body styles, the 2-door sedan, a coupe and a spider. With his beautiful Fiat 850 Vignale, Martin is one of the lucky people who can escape the daily tensions and bustle. In this case by taking nice relaxing rides with this Italian masterpiece. The engine is a four-cylinder with two valves per cylinder. The engine produces 46 horsepower and that is sent to the wheels via a manual four-speed gearbox.

Big influence

In classic car country – always and everywhere – the passion for Italian cars is visible. Usually it is the small Fiats that continue to sound. The company in Turin has always offered a large selection of mainly small and sporty models, such as the 500, 600 and the 850, in all kinds of variations.

Paragon of sportsmanship

Martin: “According to information from public sources, very few copies have survived, for the Netherlands it would only be a few copies. It is clearly a rare car and is now a sought-after collector's item. For me, this Fiat 850 Vignale is a special beauty, which has the function of pleasing the eye and the heart. The search for a beautiful Fiat 850 Sport Coupé did not succeed in the Netherlands and I therefore looked across our borders. Finally I found this unique Vignale. For outdoor recreation I still have a Fiat 124 Spider convertible, which should be driven with an open hood as a true enthusiast.”

  1. Itt what is said here; Italians care about nothing about cultural heritage unless they receive EU funding for it. Almost all of It. has been bought out. Doing business is also very tricki! Just don't start!

  2. The ugliest ever made? Well well well…. That's quite a qualification. To each his own, but this white 850 coupe certainly has more character and beauty in its design than what should be called our 'greening' today, right? He (or was it a she?) can't really be that ugly. But everyone is entitled to their own taste and opinion. That is certainly to be respected, just like the 850 coupe.

  3. What an incredibly, fun, stubborn sports car! An eye-catching perkiness. Cosmetically nothing to criticize, but it is a bit too high on its wheels for my taste. trifle. A carriage to cherish. Compliments!

  4. Wonderful sports cars, affordably designed and produced to please the general public. What a beautiful time that was.
In 2023, even the affordable budget cars will almost no longer be affordable for the general public and the car designers will also have long died, unfortunately.
