Purchasing classics there

The members of the Topolino Club Nederland (TCN) are considered under the term: Welfare. We need to realize that people tend to cherish vintage cars for an emotional connection over the monetary value. You're looking at a hobby of emotional attachment versus money. The memories are worth much more than the monetary value, and that wealth is worth more than a bar of gold. This is also the case with the Fiat Topolino 500 C Belvedere from 1954 of Guus van Eijk.

Italian delicacies

These beautiful examples of design and character have united in a still growing club of more than 200 enthusiasts. The full-fledged four-seater car was already very popular in Italy in the 50s and 60s. The Topolino club was founded on May 27, 1967, which meant that the 55th anniversary could have been celebrated last year. This memorable milestone could not be realized due to the virus misery, so it is now planned for May 2023. The plans are that it will then be celebrated with a three-day event in the vicinity of Appeltern and Cuyk. Relive bygone days. The Fiat Topolino is alive!

Mission of the TCN

The mission of the Topolino Club Nederland is laid down in the articles of association, which reads: Maintenance of the Fiat brand cars, and the licence-made Simca 5 and 6 and Fiat-NSU type Topolino. (Simca was part of the Fiat group at the time.)

As chairman of TCN, it is fun and adventures within the club for Guus, it is the friendships that have arisen through the old-timer hobby that give an extra meaning and shine. He is proud of his Fiat Topolino in Belvedere version. You get red ears of excitement when you stand next to the car, it is a beautiful and endearing car. Be honest... ...isn't your heart going to beat a little faster when you admire this little, funny Italian? Because in addition to his passion and passion as chairman, the characteristic of the club is more important and that is: Boundless enthusiasm.

TCN and organizations

Guus: “Of course we are members of the FEHAC and the KNAC and affiliated with the European Topolino Club de FEFTC (Federazione Europea Fiat Topolino clubs). This association consists of 9 Topolino clubs from five European countries, which means that we also visit clubs, drive rides, admire sights and host countries.

But there's more:

  • Regular emails with news in the old-timer area.
  • Technology and information via the website.
  • Every three months the club magazine ABC on the mat.
  • The Facebook page that guides my wife Astrid and where everyone can share their experiences with the pet.
  • Plus organizing various events, and day trips'.

It is the invisible line that connects the members, connected by the property, the social contacts, and the supply of parts. In short, a source of pleasure!”

Cute Fiat

Guus: “My cuddly Fiat has been in my possession since 2008. At the time of purchase there was a little welding, the paint was dull so that it received a new coat of paint in two harmonious colors. An engine overhaul is now planned so that the little Italian can fully participate in the three-day event in Appeltern and Cuyk (Gelderland). It goes without saying that for all our club members the Fiat Topolino is unique and invaluable.”

  1. Nice story, Bastian
It wakes me up a lot, although it is not so much about that movingly beautiful topolino…
I grew up in the same time on a similar street I think. I remember taunus, olympia, simca, dkw and some tricycles and motorcycles. Always happy when I see something like this driving. May this little fiat last for centuries.

  2. You could just put the car in the 2023 Suburban, without it
fold down the second row of seats. We had in the street in Hilversum where I grew up
various Topolinos. The pet store had a Commer station wagon, and our landlord had one
Lloyd Arabella. Good grief, surrounded by quite unusual stuff even for that time. What was next
down our street, mm Dauphines, a Zephyr and a Zodiac, neighbor had an oval beetle, and
Groenewegen traded in his Giga Buick for a Daffodil. And a BMW600 across the street, they even called it “their car”. In the neighborhood the thing was called the Theofiel Boemerang, from Suske en Wiske I believe.
    Nice article, thanks.
