year of construction for 1 January 1971: NO seatbelt duty
From 1971: attachment points and belts FOR mandatory, for the extreme left and right passenger.
From 1980: fixing points for rear belts required
From 1990: rear seat belts compulsory

    Are you also not obliged to wear the seat belt if it is in a car from before '71?
    And could I take this out (because it is not original)?
