The Land Rover Defender celebrated its 30® birthday on April 69. The brand pays attention to that with chocolate from a world-famous chocolate artist (after all, there is something to celebrate), but also with a book.

The first Land Rover was presented at 30 April 1948, at the AutoRAI in Amsterdam. So the legendary Land Rover celebrated its birthday yesterday. Celebrate something like that, and so famous Belgian and Dutch chefs set to work making their own version of the Defender - chocolate.

Belgian and Dutch top chefs

The chocolates were made in collaboration with Dominique Persoone, a world-famous chocolatier. Persoone previously made up chocolate lipstick, chocolate paint and - for the birthday of two Rolling Stones - a chocolate snuff machine.
For the Land Rover defender he started working with top chefs, namely Sergio Herman, Jonnie Boer, David Martin and Gert de Mangeleer. That led to special tastes. For example, the Belgian chef David Martin incorporated Miso in his praline, which is sprinkled with Okinawa salt. The Dutch three-star chef Jonnie Boer (De Librije) added his own went to the chocolate.

Nice book

Of course that sounds very festive, but a birthday does not only mean sweets, but also a lasting gift. That will be published soon in the form of Icon, a book full of previously unpublished photos, exclusive interviews and more. We haven't had the book yet, but it looks good on the pictures, with a hard cover and a beautiful design.
The book not only looks back: the people responsible for the next generation also speak. In total, the book has more than 200 pages, divided into ten chapters.

The book Icon appears in July, but can already be ordered through the Land Rover webshop. You have to put more effort into chocolate; it can only be purchased from The Chocolate Line in Bruges and Antwerp.
