Purchasing classics there

Do you know how to recognize a collector? He often says: "One classic is fun, two is fantastic and much more is great." In the latter category, Piet, who is an enthusiastic collector of stationary engines despite his advanced age, falls two Citroëns 2 CV and a Saab 96 L from 1978.

Citroën 2 hp (1972)

A few years ago Piet found this beautiful red 2 CV. A car that immediately reminded him of the years gone by when he drove a 2 CV every day. The 'duck' was cheap and functional, durable and versatile. It was a project, but that was no problem for him. As a mechanic he knew the technique, it was just a matter of time to get him back on the road. In this case it was not a restoration, it was limited to making and keeping it moving, so refurbishing was sufficient.

Citroën 2 CV Van (1977)

You have to be brave to recognize that it is not easy to realize all the plans you have, but Piet nevertheless decided to purchase this 'roadside assistance' version. The ugly ducks can no longer be removed from his perception. It's chronic and he just resigned himself to it. This elderly lady is a must-have for him and he wanted to make a funny car out of it. (The car has not been used by the ANWB / Road Assistance service providers.)

Saab 96L (1978)

Piet: “I bought this Saab that had been standing still for many years and this Saab is also pure nostalgia for me. In the summer I can make lovely little trips through the countryside. The most spoiled car connoisseur must admit that the Saab has everything in its class that one expects from a good car. The Saab is stuck on the road and sends light as a feather. Anyone who knows something about cars will appreciate the Saab. ”

Stationary engines

Besides his passion for classic cars, Piet has always had something to do with the technology of stationary engines. He calls them movable motor drives and owns a whole series of models including a Deutz and a very exclusive Eilenburg. The latter is known and loved by enthusiasts around the world. Age does not play a role in the hobby, it is important to take care of the heritage in order to preserve it. Piet sees this as his daily mission and that deserves respect. What do you think?
