Shocking: “Frans Weekers withholds crucial information in classic car file”

Purchasing classics there

New and revealing facts have emerged in the vintage car file. Last week the Autobelangen Foundation appointed the Ministry of Financing in default due to the lack of required calculations and substantiation for too long. The reason for the lack of such data is becoming increasingly clear. Because the club of Wouter van Embden made it clear that State Secretary Weekers and his entourage in all probability manipulated and withheld data about the declining import of old-timers. These are data on the decline in imports that were committed well before the coalition agreement was drawn up. The import of oldtimers has been declining since 1 January 2012 as a result of the otherwise well-functioning Van Vliet Amendment. The measures taken on the basis of manipulated and withheld information still cause a harmful effect. Weekers can wet his chest, because the astonished and shocked opposition will soon be asking for clarification in an unmistakable way.

Estimates are probably miscalculations

As is known, the Ministry of Finance refuses to provide access to the calculations that should justify the abolition of the MRB exemption in its current form. In all probability, the politicians involved in the “oldtimer decision-making” were presented with manipulated information. Crucial information about the decline of imported old and young timers was withheld under the Van Vliet Amendment. As a result, estimates in the classic car file and the resulting measures could never be properly established. Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl - which demonstrated the decline of imports and brought it politically pending - recently concluded on the basis of thorough research that the proceeds from the 40-year compromise would not be € 137 million, but only € 40 million. The financial consequences were also calculated: the abolition of the Van Vliet Amendment would cost at least € 200 million in lost income.

"Ministry provides very selective information to Chamber"
On behalf of the CDA, Member of Parliament Pieter Omtzigt - who is involved in the tax portfolio, among other things - wants to ask the Ministry for clarification. In particular, the question whether Frans Weekers was aware of the sharp decline in imported vintage cars in 2013 while answering parliamentary questions - at the beginning of 2012 - concerns him. This is important for many involved. In the interview with Wouter van Embden, Omtzigt also says that he is not surprised about the selective provision of information. He even wonders “whether the Ministry is aware of the information left behind”. Omtzigt says: “Information has been withheld before. This was also the case in the subsidy issue surrounding semi-electric vehicles and the border effects of refueling abroad. Even then, information was simply withheld. And after my request for information about cross-border refueling, it turned out that the people involved had not made any calculations for two years. " The calculations that are made are not correct according to Omtzigt. “They cost many millions, which then have to be offset by a tax increase. That makes no sense. ” Omtzigt was clear about the chances of retaining the Van Vliet Amendment, which therefore led to the aforementioned - and initially held back by The Hague - import decline. “Due to these developments and the fact that there is not even a majority in favor of implementing the 2014 Tax Plan, the chance of retaining the Van Vliet Amendment is greater than in a normal year.”

"Political mortal sin"

The founder of the aforementioned Amendment - member of the House of Representatives Roland van Vliet - is also not tender in his findings. “Policy has been made on those figures and MPs have made decisions. But if it turns out that this information is incomplete or even manipulated, then that is simply a political sin. "Van Vliet further says:" This is simply a matter for parliamentary questions. And when it comes to the substantive treatment of the Tax Plan, there should not be a shame: "Finally, he said that" the sources that show the decline in the number of imported vintage cars from 2012 - CBS and RDW - are parties to which even Finance can never ignore. In any case, everyone should look at the behavioral consequences, including the environmentalists on the left. "He also expressed the hope that" Weekers will still contribute. "

"State Secretary in charge of healthcare fraud file has a new problem"
Vrijstellingoldtimer.nl has shaken things up a lot with the publication of the “withheld import figures”. There is also growing support from the opposition parties in The Hague to maintain the Van Vliet Amendment. For some time it had been clear that behavioral consequences were not being looked at. But if it turns out that State Secretary Weekers, who is also responsible for the healthcare fraud file, is dealing dubiously with very crucial information, that is poignant. Because that same Secretary of State has intimidated the classic car alliance to agree to the 40-year compromise. Thanks to the information that was left behind, this resulted in considerable damage to the industry and the owner. Thanks to all the findings and the new revelations from Vrijstelllingoldtimer.nl - and a tax plan for which there is no majority - it cannot but be that the Van Vliet Amendment continues to exist. Then the damage caused on wrong grounds is still somewhat limited. But there is also a new perspective for old- and young-timer-loving Netherlands. Before that happens, the State Secretary still has a lot to explain. In any case, his political career is under heavy pressure thanks to a dossier that was considered insignificant by politicians - and not least by Weekers himself - not so long ago.

  1. The problem is that they all get into each other's ass as long as it makes money what they throw over the bar in the hedge. And this is the easiest way to get it back.
bunch of leeches in the Hague.

  2. Discussion pros and cons! What is it about. Which car owner knows how polluting his mobile is. New cars are also polluting. only somewhere else in production, for example, or how long such a new thing can still last. Also 30 years old? Don't believe any of it. Receicling great words. I go for a good product that can last for years and years. For me that is economic value for money. Are you talking about polluting old-timers and then, for example, that old diesel mercedes that has proven to be solid.
You may now set the requirement that the polluting emissions from engines old or new meet the current requirements if you want to take it on the street. And I think that can really be done with modern engine maintenance and adjustment. Then you immediately put the owner of such an old thing under pressure and he can opt for rows or stables. Such a measure also provides work for all kinds of companies that specialize in this.

For most old-timer owners it is their blinkertje and they just want to be able to tour with it without all sorts of side effects. In addition, there are also those who do daily bling bling with an old-timer and why not then it is used for what it is. Rows!
And among the new car owners, there are also many who want to steal the show with it and they don't even want such an old thing. Discussion old or new is not about anything, new cars also stink
only there is no discussion about that.

I think the problem is with the car lobby that does not stand up enough for old-timers. And do not want to look for actual solutions.

  3. Fyra …… JSF …… .ABN / AMRO …… NS …… .HSL …… .. DEFENSE ……… POLICE CARS PON …… ..GOLDEN / EURO …………. 5 YEAR CRISIS …… .. CARE ... ……

All gigantic money wasters / blunders of the first order by politicians and nobody disappears from the warm plush (or with a huge bowl of money to another semi-government function), would Weekers have to leave for that?

Politics always wins, regardless. And indeed, I have kept 2 oldtimers of just 40 years… ..and already dumped the other ones: --(

  4. Do not only compete for the car classics, but extend that to ALL classics, do not forget the many hobby sheds where a colorful collection of 30+ motor klassiekers stand. I myself also have a 30+ classic (Honda VF750C Magna) where the blue sky is around for days (1200 km per year). For classics, there will actually have to be an award: the classic license plate, just like traders and taxis, a different color license plate (the old dark blue) with an associated insurance, which counts for your entire collection, in the name of one person. You can cancel the costs of this for the government, by having every vehicle that passes the 30 years, make the one-time choice, or deregister for free for scrapping, or pay one-off entrance costs for classic status with a linked km restriction (NAP check at any bovag company 1x per year) and compulsory classic insurance. With that, you are again deceptive Henkies & Achmeds to abuse the scheme.

    • What an aggression!

1200 km per year is quite something for a motorcycle. You can quite pay for that. You can call it a hobby, but a hobby also costs money.

  5. Hopefully they leave clean LPG untouched. I do not understand that they are not just tackling those diesels.
I drive an audi from 86, daily. I think it is a nice comfortable car, I already thought that in the past. I want to spend and maintain something well, pay parts / VAT, etc.
1: 8 gasoline is just not feasible, so LPG is a lot more affordable. But above all it is one of the cleanest ways of driving!
I would also like to pay MRB, but that must be in proportion. The full blow is not right as far as I am concerned. I did installation 1,5 years ago–> 2000 installation, 350 to 400 euros VAT, there may also be a transitional arrangement.

    • what well diesels tackle I have a chevy Van with a diesel bj 1983 I drive here 4000 km per year.
a few years ago, the MRB increased to 30 years, they must maintain this and otherwise they must make it the same for everyone and settle the mrb with the fuel, then everyone will pay equally.

    • Yes, but it's just about the daily drivers, gasoline, diesel or LPG doesn't matter.
the exemption is not intended for that, just as the insurance requires there must be a second car for daily use and an oldtimer is not for that, please note that I am not saying that this scheme is being abused, but driving an oldie every day ... . No

  6. This makes me completely happy.
Weekers gets a hell of a job!
For me it can't get enough. How many people has he not completely mad in the last few months and made him depressed.
But there is now hope that everything will remain the "old" and that we can all continue to drive our little car [s].
I can cry, but now with joy.

  7. They could have put it out much earlier, stupid that they didn't do that, apparently you can lie that you're bursting in this government. Should we try it at our provider, we are immediately on the street and these dorks can just continue, enuhhh Weekers is by no means the only one.

  8. He sowed that himself. just a little while longer and then it can be harvested… good news so we are finally rid of those incompetent Weekers. now the rest of his gang, or at least of his informers.

  9. When Weekers claims that he did not know the figures for 2012, it is at least a matter of careless administration since the sources are also accessible to his ministry.
If he did know, it is improper administration since he withholds relevant figures from informing the parliament.
In both cases it is once again a major political “slip”.

  10. and then people find it strange that people no longer have faith in politics, LIEGERS AND CHEATERS they are there purely for their own interest instead of national interest !!!!!!!
