The Pentecost weekend in the place Groede always guarantees a lot of spectacle. Adrie Neuféglise from the organization reported about 'his' event.

"It's over Oldtimer Weekend Groede. As an organization, we can look back on a very successful event. Due to other events that took place at the same time, unfortunately with fewer vehicles, but with more public. Saturday and Sunday afternoons became two of the busiest afternoons of the year.

A few dozen arrived on the market on Friday afternoon army vehicles a great start to the weekend. The group also came that evening DRG 40-45, re and actment happen (German army WWII).

On Saturday morning the other participants also came to the Markt together for the army Greed, where the well-known Groese porridge was enjoyed with coffee or tea. It was again a bustle, the market full of army vehicles. Even a German army vehicle was there. The nearly fifty vehicles, both cars and motorbikes, left for a short tour Greed to Nieuwvliet to go back to 'Groede' in Groede under great public interest. Then the journey continued to the sand pit between Oostburg and Draaibrug where people could 'sand bite'.

A number of vehicles actually went into the sandbox and under the supervision of the other participants, one of the drivers managed to get his car stuck in a well of water in such a way that it needed an atlas crane to get him back on the water. De then went to the Paardenmelkerij Oostburg, where the participants were served a well-cared for lunch. This year the army vehicles were allowed to park on the farm.

De tractors left this year from the Coensdieke care center in Aardenburg. Via a tour they also arrived at the Paardenmelkerij Oostburg, where they visited the army vehicles could receive.

After lunch both the army vehicles as the tractors for the continuation of the tour to end at Groede Podium around half past three. A parade of the participating vehicles was held at four o'clock. In the meantime, visitors had also reached Groede Podium, where they could get acquainted with the bunker village in the spheres of WWII. The bunker village was through DRG 40-45 fully equipped, including the original residents. There was even a shooting range, where loose shoots were fired.

After the parade, the vehicles were parked on Groede Podium and then moved on to the Market in Groede, where the Saturday ended with a BBQ for the participants.

On Sunday it was the turn of the other vehicles. Here, too, the journey started from the Markt, where some of the participants closed the army weekend with army vehicles. There were fifty four-wheelers, a truck and ten two-wheelers. Lunch was provided on the beautiful old farm of the Risseeuw family along the Scherbierseweg. During that lunch there was an opportunity to have an atmospheric photo taken by the West Zeeland Flanders Photo Club, the photos will be published on www.owgroede.com.

At about two o'clock, the ride continued and ended with a water test for the participants at the Market in Groede. The first vintage cars came back from three o'clock, whereby the cars had to find a place among the crowd present in large numbers. Of course, just like the day before, there was musical support from Mo Bunk from a band from Middelburg / Vlissingen and the tour ended with a BBQ for the participants.

Around seven o'clock the weekend was officially closed and the organization could look back on a very successful event. "
