Purchasing classics there

Opel, always a constant player in the Dutch market, with a history full of ups and downs. But time and again new impetus came; many new models followed in the 50s and 60s. Just think of the success story of the Opel Kadett over the years. You could always drive Opel in the larger class, such as the Wybe classic, an Opel Rekord 2 L.

Cared for down to the smallest detail

The Opel Rekord 2 L from Wybe has spirit and is cared for in every detail. Impeccable in finish and comfortable on the road. What can be found out about the life of this 36-year-old Opel? The first owner was Opel dealer Raasveld in De Bilt, who used the car as a demonstration car for two years. Then it came on the market and was ridden by the second owner until 2011. After his death, Wybe found this car on the internet.

Image of a well-maintained Opel Rekord 2 L

The history of the Opel Rekord 2 L was carefully recorded in a folder; all inspections, invoices – and even the purchase invoice – give an impression of a well-maintained car. Because Wybe was only 16 years old at the time of purchase, the car was first stored and later adapted to his personal wishes. A real Opel connoisseur sees what the Opel Rekord 2 L is embellished with:

  • Front and rear bumper in an Irmscher version.
  • Rims, also from this sporty Opel model.
  • A luxurious interior of the Opel Senator.

Shared enthusiasm

Wybe: “I get a 'kick' when I see my Opel, especially because I was driven around in the same type of Rekord as a little boy. On the road with my classic I feel like a proud rider. The shared enthusiasm with my father really appeals to me. I like original, but small adjustments should be possible; you could say i made my own creation. That's why I think my Opel Rekord 2 L is special; simply a car with a clear and attractive history, good for a very long (car) life.”

  1. Beautiful survivor! These Rekords usually had a tough (representative) life and were often worn down. The technique and also the bodywork could take quite a lot…. my best mate's KJ-15-FP was a fine example of a neatly maintained two-litre Rekord E2. We had three long summer holidays in a row to the south of France with that car and it didn't matter, Route Napoleon in the heat or getting along on the Autoroute with our bikes on the carrier, the Rekord didn't budge. Great car that unfortunately found its Waterloo in a chain collision on the Van Brienenoord bridge, at the end of 1989. The towbar of the white BX in front of us caused a lot of misery and the other white BX behind us had also caused a lot of damage despite the towbar on the Rekord. The replacement was a Rekord 1.8S but it could not match the legend.

  2. A friend had the thing in 2.3? liter turbo diesel..
    From '84 I think.
    Great cart…
Driven it until sometime in the early 90s..
