Purchasing classics there

CDA Member of the House of Representatives Pieter Omtzigt submitted an Amendment yesterday, in which he argues for a transitional arrangement for classics on Diesel and LPG. At present, the full MRB rate is charged for Diesel and LPG vehicles with an age of less than 40 years. For gasoline classics and young timers, a transitional arrangement applies, whereby a maximum rate of € 121 per year is applied. Owners of petrol vehicles using this scheme are not allowed on public roads in December, January and February.

Maximum rate € 350 per year, otherwise the same conditions
Pieter Omtzigt has mentioned the same conditions of use in his Amendment. Omtzigt does, however, work with a fuel surcharge. His proposal assumes a maximum rate of € 350 per year for Diesel and LPG classics. The age conditions are the same as those for petrol vehicles, which are now eligible for the transitional arrangement.

FEHAC calls on supporters to take action
In the meantime, the FEHAC called on the supporters to take action en masse. In addition, the FEHAC welcomed the submission of the Amendment. “We are against the daily use of classic cars. We therefore wholeheartedly support the Amendment. And we also call on our supporters to do that, by sending emails to the members of the Lower House Committee. ”

Amendment despite rejected motions
It is striking that Omtzigt simply submits his Amendment. Last week the coalition parties in the Lower House rejected the motions with regard to the introduction of a possible transitional arrangement. These motions were submitted during the consideration of the initiative paper by Pieter Omtzigt. Among other things, the disappointing MRB revenues from the old-timer scheme were discussed. What was striking at the time was that State Secretary Eric Wiebes of Finance gave a lot of support to the Car Interests Foundation, which demonstrated exactly what the financial proceeds were from the introduction of the old-timer scheme. However, Wiebes is not open to immediate adjustments. The Amendment tabled by Omtzigt has also been discouraged by the State Secretary.

Today - on November 12 - the vote on the "Omtzigt" amendment is likely.

* Update 13: 00 hour: Due to the multitude of amendments regarding tax measures, it is unclear whether the vote will take place today.

  1. Excellent arrangement for classic cars, the real hobby user has no problem with that. Only the abusers don't like it. Why don't you have to pay mrb for an old car? Weekers was quite right. And those people who complain about that robbery ... they also pay for the school of your children and your parents' nursing home or did you not think about that?

  2. I still think it's outrageous that a group of pickpockets in the 2nd room are making our lives difficult with absurd taxation on cars! I pay the absurd amount of 70 euros per year for my Volvo V1700 diesel. Then I have driven less than a kilometer! Then I still have to go to the pump to pay more than 70 cents per liter to the criminal and above all corrupt state of the Dutch countries. In 2011 I bought my beautiful 240 Mercedes 1982 Diesel. Original Dutch and so more than 20000 euros has already been paid in taxes. I have kept the letter I received declaring that the car is 25 years old. I see it as a breach of contract! We should all have refused to pay the tax bill! Then you make a statement! If I had not suspended the Mercedes, I would have spent more than 3000 euros a year on those fat heads! Mind you, I haven't driven a meter yet! Do not steal, the (r) government does not tolerate competition!

  3. Do not agree with!
    A. I still have a letter from the tax authorities stating that my MB 300E on gas after 25 year, road tax is free, now 127 € per month. Hey!!
    B. It cannot be the case that I have to expand my much more environmentally friendly gas installation, and then run on petrol, to fall under the cheaper regulation! Huh?… .What for the environment !?
My MB on gas may well be cleaner than the new VWs.
    C. The Chamber has, as is often the case, been lied to about the proceeds of this measure.
    D. Should we not comply with agreements in this country?
    Sick, it makes me sick.
