Renault 9 - kissed awake?

Purchasing classics there

This Renault 9 in an automatic version has been 'kidnapped' from France to the Netherlands and has now been almost 30 for years. He was parked in Aduard in Groningen and reason enough to take a snapshot of it, because the model has almost disappeared. He followed the Renault 14 (is there still a screw left?) Just like the 9, the so-called compact class and popular in the Netherlands. For the owner it is not a collector's item of great value. For him it is still a utensil that he drives every day. Still happy that he was awake kissed, his job now is to keep the Renault 9 alive and kicking, he will get a good old age with love and attention. Dirk de Jong

  1. Great car!

    Car of the year 1981.

Seats are placed on rails that are close to each other, so that the rear passengers can easily put their feet under the front seats, which provides quite a lot of space in the back. From the GTL, the seats can tilt for an even finer seating position. Much sheet metal is galvanized, which means that rust occurs sporadically with the 9 / 11.

I had an 11 TXE with 1.7 liter engine also on LPG, great car, went like the fire department, super comfortable and complete.

14s are still there, but not much indeed.

  2. Well, it looks like the wheel covers (only delivered shortly and changed to a slightly different model for 1983) and no rear spoiler on the “automatic” version, this is an 82er and therefore not almost 30 years old, but it will be almost 40 then.
In the 9 and 11 scenes, the first nines are referred to as “single jet” due to the fact that the earliest years of construction had a center hood nozzle.

  3. Ah! That's been my fourth car and by far my cheapest. I had a “bare”, a TL I believe, with a 1400 engine and (note!) A whopper of a gas tank in the back! You could drive out of the world on a tank of gas, which I believe cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 cents a liter. If anything was wrong, it was the seats that were short and barely tellable (Am I only talking about the driver's seat, the passenger could only slide forwards and backwards. After a year or three (then stood at almost 0 km, on gas!) the drive shafts started to rattle in the corner and the shock absorbers were gone, rust spots appeared and I wanted something different ... a silver-gray Renaultje 200.000 GTX with supersonic 11 engine and gas again was installed. suitable and good for deaf tailbone and such… !!!!
