An annoying problem that you can encounter while spraying or refinishing is a so-called “silicone contamination”. The surface to be painted is often locally (spotty) contaminated with the raw materials of silicone.
In most cases, the silicone contamination is due to the fact that silicone spray was sprayed onto the paint in the past to create a kind of 'instant showroom shine'. But other 'forms of infection' are also conceivable. During and immediately after the application of the paint layer, it locally changes to a crater-shaped result, with the contamination in the middle of the crater. This is also called 'fish eyes'
- If you notice a contamination, polish the wet varnish off, let it dry completely, degrease the spots. extra, sand it all over again and continue spraying. Add 'anti-silicone' if necessary.
- When using paint from the spray gun: Follow the instructions on the anti-silicone packaging for the number of drops. When using aerosol varnish: "Too bad".
- Pay attention to which antisllicons you are going to use: the paint that can be diluted with water or white spirit
