Purchasing classics there

There have been years when you came across the Simca 1000 on every street corner. And there was a time when Simca had a very dense dealer network. Those times are over. That's why it's all the more fun to come across a Simca from the 1000 series again. In fact, we made a double report with the Simca 1006 SR and the Talbot Samba Cabriolet from André and Wynia Reus. This month we describe the Simca in Auto Motor Klassiek.

The car has become a gem, thanks to a patient and meticulous restoration. André did not buy the car as a restoration project. No, on the contrary. The Simca is André's first car, he has owned the little Frenchman since 1982. He once wanted to sell the car, but at the time of that plan (the late 1006s) no one paid attention to the car. So André decided to keep the Simca with him and to restore the XNUMX SR.

You can read that story - accompanied by a number of photos - in the current issue of Auto Motor Klassiek. And you read more. For example, about why André's first car didn't become an 1100, that's a hilarious story. But we also present large parts of the history of the Simca 1000. And within that history, the 1006 SR was only available for one year. That was during the last years of the model series, which was known as 1976/1978 from mid-1005 to mid-1006 (with the exception of the Rallye variants). Of course we drove the Simca, and we have of course also included that report in the eight-page report.

You will read it in a packed edition. Do you have Auto Motor Klassiek 3-2024 not yet available? Then run to the newsstand and pick up the magazine, which is packed with regular features and other great stories. Would you like to see the preview? You read this here.

  1. was the car to learn to drift with, which we often did, and if something went wrong you would be standing still again, because of the low weight. Just ask Jan
