Purchasing classics there

You should actually start with the history of the car and we mean the personal history of Theo. It is known that many enthusiasts today have a soft spot for cars that you have seen driving between the ages of XNUMX and XNUMX. That is also the case with Theo. In addition, his older brother also drove an Aronde at the time. The elegant Simca Aronde possessed all the qualities of a large car.

The development in the Simca hobby started with the purchase of a Simca Aronde that was still on the French registration (198 LR 03). It turned out to be a disappointment. The stubborn rust had struck so hard that he was only suitable as a donor. The second purchase was the Simca Aronde DX-87-02. This one was refurbished with the necessary parts from the first possession. This one was also sold when a beautiful Simca Aronde came into view (DR-93-37) that is still shining in the driveway.

Practice has shown that there have been many different types of Simca Aronde. During the parts hunt, Theo found out that there were many differences. Good documentation through workshop manuals proved useful when refurbishing the car.

Doctor's Advice

The fact that the recovery of the Simca took a lot of time was also due to limitations due to his own health. Working together with his son Martijn on the classic gave fun and togetherness, working together with the same goal in mind gave a lot of fun and relaxation. Conclusion: The smell of nostalgia, forgetting time together is also a medicine.

Feast of Recognition

Every summer ride there is plenty of interest in the Simca Aronde. It was special for Theo and Wilma to relive the era of that time. Just lovely to just tour around! Just a mini relationship with other road users, just raising your hand and waving, that gives a good feeling. Owning the Simca clearly has an effect on well-being!

  1. Mention Simca, and I think Aronde, although the later and squarer Simca 1000 suited my age better. The fact that I was already captivated by this classic with flowing lines at a much younger age was due to the Hr. Bergers, butcher in my street in Hilversum. And at that time you could still park cars on the street…….

  2. I read the story about the beautiful Aronde. Attached are 2 photos I took last week in France in Argeles sur Mer. As far as I could see from a whole female there
