One of the largest classic fairs has opened the gates. We have reported several times recently about the 29e Techno Classica, which includes numerous themes, manufacturers and preferably 1.250 exhibitors. BMW Group Classic is also present at the classic festival in Essen, Germany. This edition of the Techno Classica Essen seizes that to reflect on a number of milestones from the past.
This year it is 23 years ago that BMW introduced its new trump card in the Upper Class with the E3. With the new top model from BMW, the emphasis was mainly on comfort and luxury, whereas predecessor E7 had a more sporty character. BMW Group Classic is showing seven copies of the 7 Series, in order to emphasize the anniversary. Speaking of the 12 series, the second generation of BMW's top model housed the first post-war V1987 from Bavaria. In 750 BMW (under the name 12i) provided the top model with an impressive 12 cylinder. Reason enough for BMW Group Classic to reflect on the thirtieth anniversary of the V70, which saw the light of day as an M50B4.988 engine with XNUMX cc.
Fifty years of BMW location in Dingolfing
BMW Group Classic also pays tribute to the 5th anniversary of the BMW factory in Dingolfing. The Bavarian production facility came into the hands of BMW after the Bavarian Glass was taken over by Munich. After that takeover, automobiles from Hans Glas GmbH were built for some time. The 12 Series (E29) was the first new BMW model to be built in the Bavarian provincial town. Essen pays tribute to half a century of “BMWs from Dingolfing”. And other historical highlights will also be highlighted by Bavarian heritage keepers. BMW Group Classic will be domiciled in Hall 14 during the XNUMXth edition of the Techno Classica Essen.
