We did it last weekend, but if you keep an eye on the weather forecast, you could still be able to next weekend. Or just maybe the weekend there. But after that it will really be over ... The classic season.

We chose a Wadden island. For Texel. We had never been there because of allergy to mass tourism. But the Wadden Islands have many hours of sunshine, and 19-21 September definitely fell out of season.

Texel in the late season, or the end of the season, turns out to be a fantastic island. Just big enough to do some touring. Small enough to rent an electrically assisted bicycle.

There is culture, there are huge beaches. The hospitality staff is friendly. And on the terrace of De Kastanjeboom in Den Burg, we considered emigrating to Texel after the meal. Sincerely friendly service, that fantastic meal with which the chef proved that Texel's lamb, which is limited in our experience to be cuddly, is extremely edible. , a few glasses of Texel specialty beer ... A dessert. A deep sigh.
