The foreign market

Purchasing classics there

The foreign market, Dutch people and money. That apparently remains a strange field of tension. We already knew that a good part of the classics for sale here - usually the top pieces - often spend their lives abroad.

That is because "Het Buitenland" believes that "Our Classics" are generally in excellent condition. And it is more than a bit because Foreigners think the classic prices here are ridiculously low.

Maybe it's time for some counter gas? Moreover: if you buy the classic of your dreams for the price that Foreigners have been dreaming about for years, then you do something better with your money than letting it evaporate in the bank.

And do you know the difference between an enthusiast and an investor? The investor prefers a classic that is not on Dutch papers. For tax reasons.

They are smart, those investors.

Yet?

And to give an example of Foreign Prizes: A friendly Frenchman who we met this holiday proudly showed us his latest acquisition. The Honda CB450 K1 was the nicest to describe as a Project with Potential.

Thierry told without blushing that he had paid 3250 euros for it.

And that is just about the amount for a Dutch topper of this model…. Stays, Because too expensive.
