This 57-year-old Volvo is very strong and very charming because of the convex line of the body. For Harry Jansma more of a tool than a classic driving machine, because the Volvo is on the road every day as a company car for his painting work.

Volvo is traditionally a quality product and that is what the entrepreneur also wants to radiate in his work. (Quality means business.) Svenskip Fryslân is a versatile company, because in addition to his painting work, the maintenance (and sale) of Swedish boats is also part of the work. There are even possibilities for boat trips in nostalgic Swedish boats in the Frisian far north.
Swedish classics
Of course we are interested in the Swedish classic that he has owned for 20 years, and which he and friends turned into a pickup in days gone by. It is quite normal for Harry to use the car as a company car. He remains sober under the interest he gets everywhere when he goes on painting jobs.
Harry: “I just think it's a nice car. It drives wonderfully and from a business point of view it is very practical. Anything Swedish attracts me. It is an intensely positive feeling that you have for something. For me it is the Swedish boats and also the Volvo Duett pickup that are important. Perhaps it is a re-experiencing of sentiment and nostalgia?”
Modern times
For many enthusiasts, driving a classic is pure emotion. A memory of something that will never come back. Even though Harry remains sober, it is still nice – especially in cities such as Leeuwarden and Groningen – when people enthusiastically and visibly raise their thumbs when he drives to work. Nowadays you don't see many 'workhorses' anymore that are different in shape and execution. Harry is a nice exception to that. But in the end it's all about customer satisfaction if the paint job is done well. The satisfaction that his Swedish beauty gives is an added bonus.
