As a fanatic Citroën enthusiast, Sipke van der Kooi is convinced that France has been way ahead of their time when it comes to automobiles. Citroën was always a good example, the constructors genius! This does not alter the fact that he likes to go to car museums on his vacations and can also show interest in other manufacturers. Together with his girlfriend, they are quests for the automotive past, such as this year in Scotland.

In the Riverside Museum in Glasgow, he found English style and tradition in many forms, whether it was a Bentley or the famous English sports cars. But also the popular models from bygone times were exhibited such as the Triumph Herald, The Ford Anglia.
But the model that stood out was the competitor of the Austin Mini, the beautiful daring construction of the Hillman Imp. For example, the Imp has the engine in the back and has an opening rear window and easy-to-use extra space with the folding rear seats.
The special thing about this English mini competitor is that Prince Philip unveiled a plaque in 1963 after this Imp came off the production line. The Linwood factory produced the Hillman Imp until 1976, the factory closed its doors in 1981. The condition of the Hillman Imp is impeccable. Logically, from the band to the museum! The only flaw we can spot is the sign: Please do not touch. Because you have to touch this beautiful Hillman Imp. That's the beginning of falling in love (also with classics, right?)
It was driven for a while, it had an aluminum engine block in the back, about 900cc, a funny cart. The rear window was foldable.
Another nice story about a forgotten car.
It is a pity that a photo of the characteristic back is missing.
