Purchasing classics there

The German classic season starts today with the 22nd Bremen Classic Motor Show. Then fans of Kreidler, Simson and Co. will certainly be entranced: The two Sonderschau in Bremen consist of vehicles in the 50cc class. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with PS.SPEICHER and several North German collectors.

Until the end of the 50s, 50 cc two-wheelers were particularly popular. During the eighties and nineties, small motorcycles fell into oblivion. But around the turn of the millennium there was a renaissance of 50cc gold, especially within collector circles. The mopeds were already unique; Never again was there a vehicle class for young people whose only limitation was engine power. Due to the size of only 50cc, the regulators at the time believed that the teenagers could not drive too fast anyway. But it was the young people themselves who regularly made optimal use of the potential of the 50 cc: performance became second nature. The “fast XNUMX” became a household name, and the file became an indispensable tool.

A nice playing field was created. Competition from small motorcycles grew. In fact, the mopeds became serious smaller motorcycles that impressed in terms of robustness and performance. Especially the 'German big three' – the manufacturers Hercules/Sachs, Zündapp and Kreidler – also competed for the title on race circuits or off-road tracks. There was scope in the technology, and the little ones could grow into real athletes. There are a total of 10 of these three Swabian brands exponents on display during the 22nd Bremen Classic Motor Show.

The mopeds served multiple purposes. For example, there were cheaper models for mail order companies, the exotic models from Swabia as well as imports from Japan and Austria. During the special show in Bremen, mopeds from Garelli, Maico, Yamaha, Honda and Puch will also be on display. And there is even more to see at this Sonderschau. Because two-wheelers also came onto the market for teenagers with a preference for scooter design, such as the Vespa 50 RS, which can also be seen in Bremen. And from the former GDR, for example, Samson's Sparrowhawks can be seen.

This special show with the beautiful 50 cc gold of yesteryear is just one of the many highlights that visitors will experience during the 22nd Bremen Classic Motor Show.
