Purchasing classics there

The Jaguar Mark 2 is a worthy descendant of a successful series of cars, the quality and refinement of which are legendary. Jaguar itself emphasizes the excellence of their cars with the slogan: “Jaguar, the British brand that offers a global driving experience unmatched by any other brand.” The Mark 2 is the epitome of this reputation, a combination of speed and elegance that has continually advanced automotive technology.

The unique character of the Jaguar Mark 2

Classic car enthusiasts appreciate the Mark 2 for its stylish appearance, soft curves and elegant lines. This car invites you to relax. Every ride becomes a moment to enjoy the hobby, away from the hectic pace of everyday life. It's about the experience and enjoyment.

The discovery of a special car

Our discovery of a red Jaguar Mark 2 reminded us of Inspector Morse, who had a close relationship with his burgundy Jaguar in the TV series of the same name. The car was found at the Van Schaik car company in Leeuwarden, but the history of this specific car turned out to be different. Investigative work by sales advisor Jarno Haaisma revealed a series of invoices and a valuation report. RDW data showed that the car originally came from Finland and was brought to the Netherlands in 2004. In 2021 it became part of an extensive classical collection.

The unwritten rules for Jaguar Owners

There are some unwritten rules for owning a Jaguar Mark 2. The car should never appear in public with dents, rust or dirty windows. Towing a caravan is not allowed. And it is recommended to dress appropriately for the sheer joy of riding. So a Jaguar must always be immaculate and well cared for.

The fervent desire for a Jaguar Mark 2

We realize that owning a Jaguar remains a dream for many. Yet we can respect the age (built in 1966) and the combination of power, performance and elegant luxury appearance of the car. It is a rolling work of art that is admired by true enthusiasts. Even just by looking at the beautiful silhouette.

The ideal owner

The new owner of this Jaguar Mark 2 will undoubtedly enjoy quiet drives, preferring secondary roads and avoiding busy, stressful traffic. The driver and this British 'Jag-yew-er' work best in a calm environment. Driving this car is a sensual experience.

The 2 Jaguar Mark 1966 is a car that commands respect not only for its age and performance, but also for its timeless elegance and luxury. It is a car that both ignites the passion of the enthusiast and fuels the dream of the potential owner.

  1. I have both the XJ6 series1 and the MK1. They both have their own beautiful appearance. Can't watch it enough. Driving makes a big difference, you won't get bored...

  2. Even nicer is an MK1. The predecessor of the MK2. Mine from 1953 is still completely in its original state and in top condition. Due to its age and the fact that it has never been welded or restored, it looks a bit shabbier than the red MK2, but that gives it a little more cachet... Driving it is indeed as described above. It's a pleasure!

      • Inspector Morse drove a dark red MkII with a black roof. In his younger years, before he became an 'inspector' as depicted in the prequel series 'Endeavor Morse', he drove a black MKI. The very last shot of the 'Endaevor' series shows a very nice transition to the future. Endeavor (played by Shaun Evans) crosses his mkI with a red-black mkII. In the rearview mirror of the latter we see the eyes of the long-deceased actor John Thaw, who played the original Inspector Morse. I thought that was so clever.
By the way, I also think the mkI is slightly nicer than the mkII.

        • Here we talk about the 'Jag' as a Morse car. Seriously people, I think it is endlessly beautiful. Every scene he appears on screen is mouth-watering. This is not suitable for my wallet, but I enjoy the sight of it to the fullest. Those lines and the way it rides gracefully and sways a bit. The wooden finish. In the race for the most beautiful car, for me at least it is at the very top. A dream! And yes, we are fans of the series with both the old and the young Morse. We will stay home for that.

    • I still have an original workshop manual for the Jaguar MK1 for sale. At the time I came across the Autojumble in Beaulie with the idea of buying and restoring an MK1. However, it never happened again. Can be sold for €75

  3. My dark green Mark II was the most desirable limousine of all time for me in the 60s. I dreamed of that. Too bad the rust was a bit difficult to deal with, never technically let down. On a trip to Paris on the Autoroute du Nord, still without guardrails, I unfortunately totaled another car, only the bumper and lighting on my Jag needed to be straightened. Back then you still had thick steel bumpers. Great memories also of the company that loved to ride along. I have now enjoyed a Jag XJ30 series 6 for 1 years, which is more spacious but not more beautiful.
