What shall we talk about today? If you have been diagnosed as a lover of this icon, then we are talking about Volkswagen, who else? This unique four-wheel drive VW Transporter with an engine capacity of 1900 cc is a wonderful example of versatility. Something that history proves.

Living legend

Originally, this powerful vehicle was delivered new in Austria to the Red Cross, and handed over to the local fire brigade in 1994. Ready for the big work! The documentation of the VW bus shows that it was transferred to a private owner in 2015, after which the car came to the Netherlands in 2020 and was registered. This shows once again that the company car was a welcome guest in Austria for two aid organizations: the Red Cross and the fire brigade, and is now looking forward to a new future in the Netherlands.

Unique condition

That the “flaming” love has remained is evident from the special and unique condition the bus is in to this day. Of course, some rust spots have been touched up occasionally. But overall it's in pretty good condition for a 37 year old icon. Some people are born with mysterious and creative ideas, because the VW Transporter is now designed as a replica of the Porsche Renndienst, while the interior has been converted into a simple camper. Talk about versatility!

Mobile summer house

The Volkswagen Syncro is simply equipped with a folding table, storage drawers, an original Caravelle sofa bed, and a second battery with an inverter to 220 volts. The bus stands on Porsche Fuchs rims (also replica) with strong all-terrain tires. It can leave the asphalt and drive through rough terrain without any problems. Can conquer slopes and does not shy away from deep ruts in the mud.

The 1900 cc water-cooled VW Boxer engine with 4×4 gearbox has a high and low range. But as a mobile house it is of course also ideal for shopping and pleasure rides. Fun is free, just the joy of owning such a unique VW Syncro Transporter. It allows you to have adventures.

Porsche Racing Service

The windows of the replica are covered with red foil and the texts are spotless white. Porsche never built a bus itself; In days gone by, the service car was used for the racing teams with the VW sign on the nose. With this performance old times revive; There is an aura surrounding this special VW Transporter that enthusiasts are not insensitive to.

Nosstalgia Classics

We found this unique bus in the collection of Nosstalgia Classics in Drachten. Between small and large classics and vintage cars from 20 to 60 years old. You see everything there that gives you a nostalgic feeling. The enthusiasm of Egbert Spinder, the owner (ambitious and dynamic), is palpable. And that is something we as enthusiasts fully appreciate.

Passing on history

We would like to pass on history, command respect for the passion for driving heritage, tell positive stories and be proud! As a subscriber of Auto Motor Klassiek you get an idea of the mobile museum collection that gives an idea of the development of technology and design. Not yet a subscriber? 1. It looks neat and has been made into a nice mobile home. A synchro at that. I've seen them before... right yes…. in Austria.
Yes, there was one here in my own hometown too. The 'number plates' really suit him 😃
