Purchasing classics there

This small Fiat had many variations in execution, but this Fiat 850 T Pulmino from 1974 has been an enrichment of Diny's (car) hobby life since 2013. The charm for Fiat and for all things Italian can be seen in her garage, there is a bright green, but also fast and economical, Vespa scooter shining in the corner. For commuting an Abarth 500, the connoisseurs know that the top technology is packed in an elegant Italian jacket.

As a hobby car, this handy Fiat van is suitable for all kinds of transport, in addition to being used as a camper, it is also suitable for other jobs. With its cruising speed of just under 100 km per hour, the Fiat 850 T Pulmino still manages well on the country road and certainly in city traffic. The box-shaped body has minimal external dimensions that make parking easy, the wide doors make the car very accessible. And the engine? It has already proven over time that it is reliable. Connoisseurs know that this engine can also be found in the Fiat 850 sports coupé and Spider.

italian job

Diny: “Together with Guido, who I knew did business in Northern Italy, I went looking for a suitable one. Almost simultaneously we found this one near Naples. It was probably used by a construction worker, because the buckets of paint and bags of cement were still in the Fiat 850 T Pulmino. Some windows had been closed and the benches had been removed to make room for the materials. In that sense, the van is not completely original, but for me it is extremely suitable to use it as a work car and sometimes as a camper. Its beautiful load floor and newly designed interior make it versatile and practical.”

Here too it appears that paying full attention to your old-timer / classic hobby gives a lot of fun. Diny loves her hobby so much that the rides and outings almost make her a different person. When we talk about warm feelings, her Fiat van is what makes her heart beat faster.

  1. I don't get the hype either. I have nothing to do with the T1 and T2. Did some kilometers in both, but prefer the Ford Thames, faster, more comfortable and slightly more economical. The German Fords delivery driver also drove well. The T3 (diesel) drives a lot more comfortably and is a nicer car to see.

    • Indeed, that bullie is way too overvalued and in fact just not a good van; Not now and not then: rear engine, rear-wheel drive, too little power, limited loading space, bad road holding, dubious company. Special that it has become such a hype.
