Purchasing classics there

A white 1953 Ford Prefect with a high grill and round headlights, that is Jelle's new 'okkasjonnetje' from the days of yore. Surfing the internet brought about contact between a former Mitsubishi dealer (the seller) who kept various classics in addition to the modern cars in order to retain the smell of nostalgia.

By: Dirk de Jong

Johan (the owner) received dozens of responses when the Ford Prefect was put up for sale. He was looking for a new owner, a like-minded soul who could give the car a new future. Jelle immediately showed in the first conversations that he would like to take over this 'source of pleasure'. To him, the white Ford was pure beauty in its simplicity, all those beautiful details and design brought him back to the 50s in his mind.

Gloomy?

In the photos, the Ford Prefect may still look a bit gloomy, but under the layers of fabric is a beautiful English classic. And… because of the place where it stood (in an old flower greenhouse) and the amount of fabric, the atmosphere was also something you could enjoy. Anyone who has ever made a special discovery knows that special feeling.

Feeling?

In addition to the business deal, you could see how complete strangers could become best friends after just a few minutes. Does the joint car hobby really have an effect on happiness? Johan previously searched for the past of this Ford, after the import from England the car was registered on a Dutch registration (He still knows the two letters of the registration ST). The owner was a photographer who used the Ford Prefect for wedding photography.

To the southern neighbors

After a few years, the Ford crossed the border again and ended up with a photographer in Belgium who also captured young bridal couples on film. Now the beautiful Ford Prefect has been back in the Netherlands two years ago and has been catching dust for a while. The new future now lies with the new owner Jelle, who wants to give him back his dignity.

  2. The RDW in Rijswijk has a cellar with the old license plates. since the computer, the RDW has drawn a line and filed the old one.
if you name it at an RDW station they get angry. but persevere.
I got this information from a friend who is an intermediary between RDW and the Fehac

  3. At the RDW in Rijswijk (ZH) there are old boxes with old license plates in the basement. however, the manager is retired. since the computer shutdown, the RDW has drawn a line and filed the old one. Old ones with no driving status.
I got the information from a friend (Mr. van Schagen-Stichting Veteraan Autobussen) who is an intermediary between the RDW and the Fehac.
so keep ramming at an RDW station. they don't like it… but.

  4. This Ford Prefect is beautiful platinum and looks good for its age, I have the Ford taunus 12m globe myself, but the advantage of the English Ford compared to the German Ford is that they were already 12 volts, my father also had such a prefect a slightly older one with loose headlights

  5. Unfortunately, this car is more than 1 year older than me. I don't show any traces of rust yet. If I already have wrinkles, yes, what did you think? Furthermore, I have already covered more kilometers with 1 year younger. My various shoe soles broke. My 13 cars cost me at least 4 × 13 = 52 new tires. At least how many liters of petrol have these crosses absorbed?
    Greetings

  6. The rdw can often find the old registration number based on chassis number, provided that it has not been for too long.
Then it is possible to get it back on that old license plate
