For fans of classic Mazda's, a new club has recently started operating under the name Hadi-Mazda Club Netherlands. The new association focuses on owners of all Mazda brand oldtimers and youngtimers that are older than 25 years, or that are equipped with rear-wheel drive and a hinged front hood. The association aims to bring interested people together in these classic Mazda passenger cars, in order to maintain these vehicles and to organize activities related to them in the broadest sense.
Historical slogan
Hadi-Mazda! was on the rear window sticker of the Mazdas from the '70. It was the slogan of the Dutch Mazda importer in those years and radiated the impetus of the new brand on the Dutch car market. On the one hand referring to the then popular satirical VARA television program Hadimassa. On the other hand referring to the strong growth that the brand experienced in the early '70 with a surprising range of models, high technical quality and at a competitive price.
Rarity basis for creation
The models from the years' 60, '70 and' 80, such as the Mazda 1500, 818, 616, 1300 or the larger 929, have slowly disappeared from the Dutch roads and have become a rarity. Owners know each other but hard to find and information about these classics is widely available. Reason for three enthusiastic owners of a Mazda oldtimer to set up an association for the aforementioned models.
First activities
The association has already developed some activities, including the launch of the website www.hadimazda.nl. Part of this is a forum that is visited daily by many Mazda enthusiasts. The forum contained so much information in a short time that it has already become one of the most important sources of information about Mazda's oldtimers and youngtimers in the Netherlands. Enthusiasts can register as a member or as a donor.
