Bert Kots is a real Citrophile. Except the Citroen Mehari shows a look in his garage a standard 2CV and the same type in order version. And they are all work horses. Because Bert runs a campsite in the back corner with his wife Ellen under the name De Brömmels (Woold near Winterswijk).

Bert: “It has been Little France with us for many years. A French atmosphere through our goat farm and cheese production, and that is where the classic and genius belong Citroëns completely up to date. They are just terribly nice cars, with which you can do things that you cannot with other cars. For example, I always bring my cheese to the local catering industry - with my French cap on, of course - in the delivery duck or the Méhari. For the tourists it is always an experience in itself. It is amazing that the Méhari arouses so many sentiments. It is clear to me that my heart and soul lies in my classy cars. Maybe I'll go Citroën sometimes liable for my touch of obsession with the 'Double Chevrons'. I therefore call the Achterhoek the land of culture and sun. Of course with my goat cheese on baguette and the famous glass of wine. ”
Citroen Mehari 1974
The Méhari debut was in 1968. Perfect timing of a revolutionary concept. A car suitable for sunny France. At that time, everyone could feel hip (pie) with this original car.
