The most recent Auto Motor Klassiek The issue is once again devoted to many great topics and reports. One of them is about the restoration that Ron Moës carried out on a special Porsche 911: a 2.0 S Targa from 1967.

For eight years, Ron was working on behalf of a customer to give the Porsche a new face, to give color back to the cheeks. A Blutorange color that is. And we made a nice story about it - emphatically together with Ron.

“The art of restoration is the preservation of character.” That was broadly the starting point when Ron started the restoration. In short: the Porsche was in good hands with Ron, but when he started the restoration in 2015, the 911 was not in a very fresh condition, to put it mildly.

Ron got to know the Porsche in his own way, and also the sometimes complicated secrets that have to be uncovered to give such a 911 a second life. He tells in Auto Motor Klassiek 5-2024 his experiences, how he sometimes had a Eureka moment in the middle of the night and how he ultimately managed to combine the life history of the car with new elements. Yes, an unbridledly beautiful Elfer was created.

In the latest edition you can read all about the car, about the unique features that were linked to the Porsche from the factory. About the modifications during the lifespan. About the pros and cons of the original engine, and why Ron, in consultation with the owner, chose to keep the 2.4 engine in the car. Modified and overhauled of course.

This story, which is accompanied by beautiful photos (credits: Bart Spijker) that were shot during the report and the necessary restoration photos (credits: Ron Moës) and various backgrounds, is just one subject in the latest edition. And it is again filled with the topics you are used to. Other reports about classics and motorcycles, the classics advertising section, news, columns and everything we now forget: you can read it in the latest issue of Auto Motor Klassiek. And as always, if you don't have it yet, subscribe or run to the newsstand. Because you should not miss this edition either.
