The 34th edition of the Ghent Collection Cars event has once again set the tone in the world of classic enthusiasts. With a record number of 11.123 visitors, almost a thousand more than the previous edition, this show has proven that the passion for classic cars is more alive than ever. The event, which has now become a permanent fixture in the agenda of every car enthusiast, was full of special themes and an impressive range of classic gems.
A large salon
Ghent Collection Cars has become indispensable as one of the most prominent classic car fairs in Belgium. The diversity of the visitors, from all corners of Flanders, shows that the love for classic cars knows no bounds. This year, special attention was paid to the theme Giotto Bizzarrini, a tribute to the legendary Italian engineer. Five unique cars illustrating his career were shown to the public, adding an educational dimension to the fair.
Celebrating anniversaries
The event also marked several anniversaries, including 60 years of the Mustang, 70 years of the Corvette, and the 125th anniversary of the Royal Automobile Club of Flanders. These milestones provided a unique opportunity to look back on the rich history of the automobile and its influence on both sport and society.
A special moment was the presence of Thierry Boutsen, former F1 driver, who met many fans at the Circuit Zolder stand. His presence emphasized the enduring popularity of historic races and the connection between the racing world and classic car enthusiasts.
A new destination for vintage cars
The fair was not only a feast for the eyes, but also provided a platform for the sale of vintage cars. A record number of vehicles found new owners, which underlines the economic importance and vibrancy of the classic car market.
Looking forward to Antwerp
After the success in Ghent, the focus is now on the launch of the new Classic Salon in Antwerp. From April 5 to 7, Antwerp Expo will be the stage for classic car enthusiasts, with special themes such as 110 years of Maserati and the 75th anniversary of Abarth. This promises to be an event where the passion for classic cars will revive, after years of absence in this region. We will keep you informed via the AMK site.
