Purchasing classics there

Sometimes special vehicles suddenly appear, creatively transformed into a striking appearance. Sometimes it involves high-quality tinkering, but in this case it concerns a special bodywork design based on a SIMCA 5. We are fascinated by youngtimers/classics and oldtimers on 2 or 4 wheels and dare to give space to experiments. This artist has an urge to create and make something special. And to express that in a milk float. A piece of architecture with its own unique shapes!

The history of its origins

Cock: “The SIMCA 5 was built in France under license from FIAT and I bought this type as a wreck to build a special car on my own. In other words: putting my artistic urges to work.”

Topolino club Netherlands

He continues: “I am a member of the Topolino club Netherlands, fortunately there were always fellow enthusiasts who could provide information and advice. The question is always: 'Where do you get parts and knowledge from?'. Then membership is of great added value.”

Joint project

Cock: “Owning the old wreck of the SIMCA 5 already guaranteed fun, but the project became a challenge that required a lot of time and energy. It originated as an idea for which materials and parts were later found. The saw was put in spontaneously, making extensive use of wood. (The garage looked like a carpentry workshop!) The doors are made entirely of wood, just like the roof and even the steering wheel, but also the seats and the running boards originally come from nature.”

Striking appearance

Cock continues: “My wife Janny made a contribution by making the upholstery and providing lettering for the milk cart. This resulted in a special eye-catcher that we like to show at classic car events. Even though not many trips are made. It remains an 'accessory' in the garage together with our Fiat Topolino Pick Up.”

Event coordination

We are all inclined to seek out the company of people who share the same interests. Partly thanks to his work as a coordinator in the Topolino club, the members with their shiny Italian cars receive a lot of attention at many events and classic car meetings. The milk cart is not a status symbol par excellence, but it does provide the "aura" of success at meetings. Isn't owning this special vehicle a source of pleasure?

  1. The artistic urges for building this vehicle based on your own feelings may well be based on this example of a Fiat 500 Topolino from Switzerland, photographed here at the international Fiat weekend during Pentecost in Geleen 2018

  2. What a nice vehicle!
I can imagine that children think this is absolutely crazy.
If this car drives by with Mickey Mouse behind the wheel, no one will be surprised.
Top restoration! It's nice that these types of objects are preserved this way.
