Purchasing classics there

Venema Antiques & Classic Cars in Drempt is an exceptional family business. Because it has its roots in the trade in antiques and art. The now successful classic car branch was added later

Venema

A family business

Albert Venema, the second generation, is a thoroughbred classic enthusiast and sees a unique point of sale in the current business combination. Because when a classic enthusiast comes to visit Venema, it is more often the rule than the exception that his partner will wander and dream in the antique hall at some point.

The offer in the antiques and art hall is so large that it regularly happens that the classic enthusiast has to visit his partner after his business is done. You will never find bored looking ladies in Venema's classic showroom.

"There are so many great classics"

VenemaAlbert Venema has a broad taste when it comes to classics: “I buy what I find nice and beautiful. And luckily there are enough people with the same taste. And if a car stays longer, I don't mind. After all, I bought it because I liked it. ”The Drempt range also varies from the number of A-Fords and other cars from the early days of motorized driving to the nicer type of young timers. Albert Venema's idiosyncratic taste ensures that regularly there are also finds such as an extremely rare Rosengart Spider and the old Austin van from the technical department of 'The Autotron' in the collection. Found in a shed Citroën B15 convertible from 1928 was also such a unique specimen for which an enthusiast of genuine patina soon came forward.

Yank tanks and other Americans

The collection usually also has a wide selection of 'real Americans'. That can be a beautiful 1965'er Corvette, but also a Chrysler New Yorker 5.2 V8 Fifth Avenue from 1986. That those American powerhouses stand peacefully side by side in the attractively decorated sales hall with a Citroën Traction Avant, a Mercedes-Benz 190 W121 bowler hat, a very neat Volkswagen T3 Westfalia, a Harley-Davidson and an 300 cc Gilera engine make clear how broad the mobile interest of Albert Venema lies.

The idea is to sell good classics at reasonable prices

That is a different approach than that at the top segment. A good and beautiful classic doesn't have to cost tons according to Albert. Classics are there to enjoy by driving. Buying classics from an investment perspective sees Albert as a strange excess.

But he concludes with satisfaction that 'depreciation after purchase' does not actually occur with the cars from his collection. From a technical point of view, the company has almost all the options to bring the classics for sale to an optimal condition. And where that is not the case, for example with the gearbox repair of an otherwise spotless Honda NS 600, an appeal is made to brand or type specialists.

The Achterhoek hospitality

Quality and sales are important in Drempt. But the Achterhoek hospitality is not forgotten. That is why the spacious company site is also regularly the place where clubs meet or where classic rides celebrate their breaks.
