A Moto Guzzi Hydroconvert is a fairly rare appearance. The V 1000 I-Convert (also called Hydro-Convert) appeared in 1975.
Special was the torque converter, which worked as an automatic clutch. Although there were two gears on board, the gear had to be selected before starting off: first gear for slow speeds in built-up areas, second gear for higher speeds. It was easy to drive off in second gear. The V 1000 I-Convert was intended as a police motorcycle, and as such was also sold to various police forces. But it was also sold to civilians. Success was limited. Motorcyclists apparently wanted to shift gears. Nevertheless, the machine remained in production until the beginning of 1985.
The surviving specimens are now generally cherished. This copy will also be, but in a somewhat different way.
That is why the owner is still very happy with it and thinks that there is no 'verkeerd afgelopen'.
And with that he has a point.
