From 20 to 22 April, the fourth edition of Klassieker Drachten was held. Earlier we called the event a fixed value on the classic agenda. Sjouke Bosma and his people also demonstrated during the Easter weekend of 2019 that this qualification was justified.
Classic Drachten grew again. Despite the beautiful Easter weather, the visitors managed to find the Fries Congrescentrum again. The exhibition floor was again larger than during the previous edition. It's not for nothing that the organization called Klassieker Drachten XL. She placed an extra hall to accommodate the increased volume of the offer. The show paddock, where private classic owners were able to show their cars in the open air, was again larger than in previous years. Visitors to this paddock could also participate in the Classic Rally, which Sjouke Bosma and his people were set up together with Business Rally Events. The paddock was visited en masse.
Great value for a small entrance fee
The visitors - with and without a classic - received a lot of value for the money for the extremely reasonable entrance fee of a maximum of € 8. The offer was diverse, everyday classics and exclusive, rare beautiful cars were intimately entwined with each other. Several classics changed hands. The offer fitted. As the entire stock market was right, and all without the disdain that you sometimes encounter elsewhere.
Varied offer for visitors
Lovers of beautiful engines and a diverse range of parts, tools, books, model cars and future relics were also well served in Drachten. Those who wanted to know more about a valuation could go to the ever-enthusiastic Daniël van Aken. The RDW was also present to inform about the ins and outs of a classic inspection. In addition, a number of prominent cosmetologists and restorers were present. Also not unimportant: the numerous possibilities for taking care of the inner person. Just like during the previous editions, that was a big deal again.
Familiar faces, new participants
What makes Klassieker Drachten more attractive is its recognisability, because the necessary fixed values came back en masse to the capital of the Frisian Forests. Parties came back who had not acted for a few years. And new participants also took the opportunity to exhibit their offer. All participants showed in their own way what a specific house style leads to: a versatile and authentic range that was presented to visitors in a specific way and offered diversity with attraction.
Distinctive styles forged into one
That diversity is nowhere else on the surface than in Drachten, and is reinforced by that fine cult edge that we have already told you about. It was beautifully symbolized again by strongly patinated barn finds, by the presence of the Singing Barber Bingsby (in the sun), the participation of Hotrod specialists, the activities of body painters and by ladies dressed in petty coats. Just to name a few specific features. The various activities, which naturally merge into an attractive whole, make the Drachtster event unique and a must for every classic enthusiast to put Classic on the agenda with a thick marker circled in red. Whoever has been knows what we mean.
