More power through strange Miracle Cures. We recently showed the fan that could be mounted in the suction path. Garagist Kees van Rumpt from Dirksland had lovingly adopted the thing to put in his display case with meaningless things.

But there is more we can be surprised about: the Super Inertial Super-Charger System

For example, we recently found - and bought - a unique balance and compensation test, specially made for Russian boxer twins. The purchase was triggered because some 20 years ago, those things were presented with some cheers in that little world that was not yet cherished as a classic corner for fans. And then it is very nice if you see something like that in real life and you can take it with you. Because more power on an obese classic sidecar? That's always good.

Real injection molding

Technically speaking, we are talking about two double-thick, plastic 'gaskets / insulators between the heads and the carburettors. That in itself is fine. Because the Russian boxers tend to turn their float chambers into pressure cookers. And that thick connecting hose between those injection-molded works of art? Of course it works just like the balance pipe between exhaust bends. Clearly! The fact that the intake nozzles are made of injection molding indicates that we are dealing with mass production here. Because making such an injection mold is quite a job. But hey: if the job was once outsourced to China, the costs could still have fallen. And that suggestion of a better engine running and more power? Top!

Assembling that stuff?

We've thought about that. After all, more power must be taken seriously! The set is supplied with heat-resistant gaskets on the head side and extra long threaded ends to be able to assemble all the beautiful things. There are also new washers and nuts. Beautiful. The disassembly of the carburetors and the threaded ends from the heads is simple. Mounting must therefore be just as easy. NOT!

Does not even fit roughly

When looking at the intake parts quietly, you notice something strange. More power and a better mixture supply through the balance hose and better insulation of the carburetors? That seems logical. But the fact that the carburetors have a diameter of 27,6 mm and the passage in the plestik is tight 24 mm? Such a few millimeters difference in diameter gives much less flow-through area. It looks a bit like you're putting on a T-shirt with a too narrow border for a runner. But perhaps there is a genius behind that.

East west, asbestos

So first I have to put a fine, asbestos-like gasket over the threaded ends ... The flow opening of it is also so small, but we had just thought of not paying attention. Oops. That doesn't fit. The holes are too close together. Cautious, an attempt is made to slide the plastic insert over the threaded ends. After exerting some careful pressure, that action is even stopped. The hole-to-center distance is just right, or the holes are a bit too tight.

If you can't do it the way you should ...

Then it should be as it is possible. After all, in Den Beginne it was about insulation between the head and the carburetor? Well then: Drilling the mounting holes half a mm is no problem. Increasing the blow-through hole from about 24 mm to about 27 mm diameter, that has to be outsourced. We make the gaskets on both sides of the coupling piece ourselves. If necessary without material containing asbestos.
