"The case of the broken dog"
That sounds like the title of a sixties detective story, but it isn't.
AutoMotorKlassiek reader Dirk Overeem has enjoyed reading the questions and answers to those questions in his magazine for years. Now he has one himself:
As a reminder of 'his father's car' he has a radiator mascot. That car was a Willys Overland of around 1937 and the mascot is a whippet, such a super fast ADHD dog. The animal is broken.
Mr Overeem wonders whether the dog originally heard on the radiator cap at home or later came to live on it. And whether there is someone who can make the mascot a whole again or whether there is someone who can 'pour' it over

Dear Dirk,
Willey's produced the first version of the Overland Whippet model between 1926 and 1929, various other models of this Whippet were produced until circa 1931-32 (?).
There are many photos of WWII Whippets with standard but also special or 'personalized' ornaments including the Whippet on Google photo.
More specific is the Willey's Overland Knight Registry, which can be found at
In those years I thought these kinds of ornaments were totally in, so maybe your father's WO was a few years older or the ornament of a Whippet moved to his WO from 1936, but again they were hot fashion then so your Whippet might be original !
Just visit the Google and you will find all the info.
stick with super glue, scan and then 3D metal print, possibly chrome again.
