Changing wheels is sometimes quite a hassle. Jos Goossen from Zeeland also worried about it from time to time. He therefore invented the 'wheel hanger'. And that's a piece of auxiliary tool that is as effective as it is simple. Jos noticed that he was not the only one who was happy with his invention. He decided that there might just be a market for his invention for his own use. These types of mounting brackets are not new. There are even car manufacturers who supply a 'wheel hanger' with the on-board tools. But usually those things are made of plastic.
We already knew just cylindrical 'wheel hangers'. But the Zeeland version contains considerably more thinking. And that pays off.
The step to entrepreneurship
“I spoke to my neighbor about it and that resulted in a market exploration and the development of what we subsequently called the 'wheel hanger'. We did not want to compromise on quality. That is why we decided on stainless steel as the material for the wheel hanger and we designed the device in a shape where the wheel slides easily, but cannot slide back. The shape is also experienced as 'beautiful'. And that was a bonus. We found a metalworking company in Oostburg willing to make a number of prototypes. One of them turned out to be the best.
