Purchasing classics there

This weekend the Leek Sports Center will open its gates for the 24th Oldtimer and Classic Fair. Nicely central in the north, affordable and easily accessible. That makes the event a success every year for both the organization and exhibitors. It is not without reason that visitors often return. Organizer Anton Rosema has again ensured that there will be plenty to see. Including a classically innovative first.

We recently reported about the upcoming edition through these channels. For years there have been fixed values in Leek. Individuals, clubs, traders with varying assortment and a beautiful theme square, these are ingredients that the regular visitors now know well. And what they also know is that Anton Rosema cum suis provides exceptional acquisitions every year. The 24e edition will be no exception. It simply becomes 8.000 m2 pure classic fun again.

French convertibles

For years, the French heritage has been central on the theme square, and this year the roof will be removed. French coupés and convertibles give a Burgundian touch to the collection of classics that propagate the French tricolor. And speaking of special cars with an open roof: this year a very special French-made car will make its public debut: the Blue Duck, a 2CV on hydrogen.

Unique hydrogen-powered 2CV makes its public debut in Leek

This Citroën, BlueDuck, from owner Rob Mulder from Groningen was only approved by the RDW at the beginning of October. The Hydrogen Duck has been converted by Holthausen Clean Energy from Hoogezand. On the outside everything is familiar, under the hood reveals the Citroën a revolution. The owner will be happy to tell you more about it next weekend in Leek. The 2CV contrasts nicely with the Dodge Brothers ambulance with elm wood bodywork from 1920, the oldest known ambulance in the Netherlands. He served from 1928 to 1941, then the car disappeared into storage. Found 2000 again and can be seen fully restored in Leek. And there are more pre-war vintage cars, these are being introduced by the A-Ford club, Veterans Automobile club Roadstar and the Pionier Automobiel Club. MG Noord again provides some traditional British sports cars.

M and MG

Talking about tradition. The Taunus M club, for example, is again represented, and visitors can count on it that the members will again show off the approachable Ford recognition of the past with beautiful specimens. Another fixed value is, as stated, MG Noord, which is playing a home game and will once again put visitors under the spell of historic specimens built by Morris Garages. Many other clubs and brands (such as Mercedes-Benz, Borgward, Opel, Peugeot) will also be on display in Leek.

Versatile and combination with Cars and Coffee from Hofman

There is much more. Beautiful motorbikes, the caravan club with historical material, a stand with cool dwarf cars and participants with great Americans: everything goes hand in hand with parts, automobilia, books, tools, miniatures and excellent catering facilities. Incidentally, it is also remarkable that the last Cars and Coffee of this year takes place at Hofman in Leek on Saturday, so that both events can be perfectly combined on that day and will only enhance the true car experience.

Value for money

In short: those who want to enjoy one or more days of old-timers, classics, motorbikes and everything that has to do with it, just have to come to Leek. Parking at the Leek Sports Center is free, and the same applies to the entrance: it is only € 8,50 per person. And children up to and including 12 years can join for free. We know from experience: a visit to the Oldtimer and Classicbeurs in Leek is very worthwhile, certainly for the true enthusiast. He should not miss the festival.
