Willibrordus van der Weide is the man behind Yellow Agro from Arnhem. That company specializes in the development and production of a special organic fertilizer and is also the manufacturer of Yellow Miracle Oil. But apart from those activities, Willibrordus is completely under the spell of Johannes Wardenier, the 22-year-old from Wolvega who in 1934 caused world news because he fuelless engine.

The invention would provide enormous employment opportunities locally and boost Wolvega in the speed of peoples. The original engine has disappeared. And Willibrordus already has a lot of time in his search for the fuel-free engine stabbed.

Johannes was forced into a madhouse. When he was released again, the drawings and the machine were gone. But he did not disappear without a trace and was apparently provided with income. Was that silence money? Over the years there have been a number of publications about the Wardenier mystery and the fuel-free engine been a final answer?

And Willibrordus was touched by all the open ends of the story and the fact that there were apparently people who knew more about it, but did not want to talk about it. The musical and the exhibition

The Mystery Wardenier has not only taken hold of Willibrordus van der Weide. But the approach of Sofie van Henegouwen, a history student at the University of Groningen, was very different. Her master's thesis is about the life of Johannes Wardenier. And the musical is based on that thesis and the research of Henk Ymker and Meenthe director Han Evers.

Will those people be able to forever lift the veil of secrecy surrounding Wardenier's fuelless engine?

Or are they overplaying their hands and underestimating the forces that are out to spread confusion and sweeping the truth forever under the carpet?

On April 23, 24 and 25, both the musical and the exhibition about Johannes Wardenier can be seen in De Steense in Wolvega.
